After two years of hard work by dog-owning-volunteers, the NOMA Bark Park is set to open in August. The dog park will be located inside the walking track near the North Main entrance to Earlewood Park. Amenities include separate areas for large and small dogs, pet waste stations, benches and water fountains for dogs and their owners. The NOMA Bark Park will be managed in a similar way to the dog park on Shop Road. An annual membership fee of $25 per dog will be charged and each dog must have a City/County pet license. Only dogs that have been spayed or neutered may use the dog park. There will be a key-code entry system. The Earlewood Citizens Community Organization (ECCO) is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization and will be responsible for the Bark Park. The ECCO Executive Committee will appoint seven people to serve on the NOMA Bark Park Committee. This all-volunteer committee will provide oversight of the dog park. All membership fees will go toward the maintenance and management of the dog park. For more information check out the Friends of NOMA Bark Park Facebook group or email Rebecca Spratlin.
